Carolyn (Smith) Hixon, age 99, of Warfordsburg, Pa., passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019 at the Fulton County Medical Center - Long Term Care, in McConnellsburg, Pa.

Born February 14, 1920, in Buck Valley, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John and Carolyn (Trail) Smith; and the widow of Grant R. Hixon.

She was a member of the Buck Valley Christian Church, in Warfordsburg.

She was a homemaker, and had also been employed by the Sagner Sewing Factory, in McConnellsburg, Pa. for over ten years.

She is survived by three daughters, Norma Lee Hill and her husband, Robert, of Ft. Washington, Md., Ellen Hixon and Francena Kay Davis, both of Buck Valley, Pa.; one son, Gary G. Hixon and his wife, Lola, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Johnson and her husband, James, of Buck Valley; twelve grandchildren, Ricky, David, Tanya, Cheryl, Gregory, Shannon, Anne, Nicole, Nathan, Laura, Bethany, and Megan; nineteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Hixon; a daughter, Betty Jane Hixon; a granddaughter, Karen Bowers; a grandson, Brett Hill; five sisters; and six brothers.

The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at the Buck Valley Christian Church, 2281 Harmonia Road, Warfordsburg, on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastors William Swope and Bill Croteau officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
