Mary Louise (Carlisle) Truax, age 78, of Hancock, Md., died on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at the Berkeley Springs Rehab and Nursing Center, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

Born Monday, May 22, 1939, in Berkeley Springs, she was the daughter of the late Elwood and Lillie (Speilman) Carlisle; and the widow of Lewis Charles (Bill) Truax, Sr., whom she married May 25, 1956 and who died December 7, 2008.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, in Hancock.

She had been employed as a certified nursing assistant at Homewood at Williamsport, in Williamsport, Md.

She is survived by her son, Lewis C. (Bill) Truax, Jr. and his wife, Debbie; two grandchildren, Samantha Truax and Lewis C. (Billy) Truax, lll and his wife, Bobbi; and two great-grandsons, Devon and Dakota, all of Hancock, Md.; and a sister, Dorothy Silvers, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Ralph Leasure.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, from 7 until 9:00 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock.

A funeral service will be held at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 3738 Resley Road, Hancock, on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. Pastor W. Kenneth Stottlemyer will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
