Michael Bernard McCusker, age 78, of Hancock, Md., died on Monday, March 20, 2017 at his home.
Born September 17, 1938, in Little Orleans, Md., he was the son of the late Bernard L. and Katherine (Sullivan) McCusker. He was the husband of Linda S. (Mason) McCusker, whom he married September 13, 1967 in Hagerstown, Md.
He was a 1956 graduate of Flintstone High School.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, in Hancock.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army; and a member, and past Commander, of the American Legion Webster B. Harrison Post 26, in Hancock.
In 2004 he retired from Mack Trucks, in Hagerstown, Md., after working there for forty-three years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Belinda Sue McCusker, of State Line, Pa.; one son, Michael L. McCusker, of Hagerstown, Md.; four brothers, Wayne McCusker, of Cumberland, Md., Anthony McCusker, of Hancock, Kenny McCusker, of Flintstone, Md., and Johnny McCusker, of Little Orleans, Md.; three sisters, Carol Barnes and Angie McCusker, both of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Vickie Younker, of Little Orleans, Md.; grandchildren, Logan, Colt, Zachory and Lauren McCusker, and Trenton Shackelford; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Wesley McCusker; and one sister, Patsy Price.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, and at St. Peter Catholic Church, 16 East High Street, Hancock, one hour prior to the services.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 23, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church. Fr. John Lombardi will officiate. Burial, with military honors by the Tri-State Honor Guard, will follow at the Stone Bridge Brethren Cemetery, on Hollow Road in Hancock.
