Abner Lewis “Skip” Weaver, age 83, of Warfordsburg, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Autumn Acres, near Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born April 15, 1929, in Fulton County, Thompson Twp., Pa., he was the son of the late William and Susie Margertta Fisher Weaver, and the husband of the late Norma Lee Palmer Weaver, who died May 31, 2002.
He was retired from Montgomery Ward, as a manager.
He was a member of the Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church; the Warfordsburg Lion’s Club; the Warfordsburg Grange; and a member of the Cacapon Gulf Club.
He is survived by two daughters, Ann L. Vanorsdale, of Warfordsburg, and Margaret L. Stark, of Newfane, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Lee Pike, and Geneva Creek: two brothers, Lloyd William Weaver and Robert Weaver.
A service will be held on Saturday, September 29, at 11:00 a.m., at the Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church, 12941 Buck Valley Road, Warfordsburg, Pa. Rev. Edward H. Blank will officiate. Burial will be in the Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Faith Center beside the Church, on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church, 12941 Buck Valley Road, Warfordsburg, Pa. 17267
Arrangements were handled by the Grove Funeral Home, in Hancock, Md.
