Alice Younker

Alice Isabelle Younker, age 82, passed away on July 17, 2019, at the Berkeley Springs Center, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

Born December 22, 1936, in Fulton County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Wavy (Stotler) Mills; and the widow of Wayne Arnold Younker, Sr., whom she married March 5, 1954 and who died June 7, 2012.

She was a member of the Refuge Community Church, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., where she enjoyed volunteering.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and all of her family, as well as doing ceramics, gardening, and canning.

Alice is survived by one son, Wayne A. Younker, Jr. and his wife, Rhonda, of Warfordsburg, Pa.; four daughters, Teresa A. Whittaker, of Clear Spring, Md., Bonnie S. Unger and her husband, Stanley, of Hancock, Md., Sandra L. Wills and her husband, Gary, of Needmore, Pa., and Michelle L. Gunnell and her husband, Bruce, of Warfordsburg, Pa.; six grandchildren, April Hiller, Lance Younker, Desirae Rosensteel, Chelsea Unger, Allison Wills, and Garett Unger; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald “Bo” Mills, and Wilbur Peck; and one sister, Mae Tucillo.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers; and four sisters.

The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock, Md., on Monday, July 22, 2019, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., and at the church for one hour prior to the services.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., at the Refuge Community Church, 33 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Wayne A. Younker, Jr. will preside.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
