Alta Zoe Stahle

Alta Zoe Stahle, 99, of Williamsport, Md. passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Julia Manor Nursing Center in Hagerstown, Md.

She was the daughter of the late Roy H. and Opal H. Northcraft Smith of Warfordsburg, Pa. and the widow of Charles N. Stahle who passed away in 1993. Alta graduated from Warfordsburg High School with the class of 1942. She was employed by Harper and Row Publishers in Hagerstown, Md., for 34 years where she retired as an Administrative Secretary in 1987.

Alta attended St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Hagerstown until she became ill.

She is survived by a grandson, Mark D. Stahle and wife Kim of Hagerstown, two sisters, Agnes J. Mills of Hagerstown, and Jerri Shaffer of Ft. Washington, Md., a brother, E. Leon Smith of Carlisle, Pa., and a nephew, Jeffrey Smith of Butler, Pa. She was preceded in death by a son, Terry C. Stahle of Hagerstown and a brother, William (Bill) Smith of Shippensburg, Pa.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 12:00 noon at Buck Valley Methodist Cemetery, 6600 Buck Valley Road, Warfordsburg, PA. Pastor Brandon Hill will officiate.
