Alton Elwood Lanehart, age 90, of Warfordsburg, died on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Williamsport Retirement Village.
Born June 27, 1925, in Hancock, Md., he was the son of the late Charles and Bessie (Mills) Lanehart.
He was a former member of the VFW in McConnellsburg, Pa., and the Webster B. Harrison Post 26 American Legion, in Hancock, Md.
He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by five daughters; Phyllis Fogle and husband, Harold, of Flintstone, Md., Sandra Clingerman and husband, Roy, of Flintstone, Md., Lana Heavner and husband, William, of Flintstone, Debbie Manor–Brown, of Inwood, W.Va., and Heavenly (Gidget) Lanehart and companion, Chuck Sheffler, of Martinsburg, W.Va.; one son, Chad Lanehart and companion, Amy Krause, of Warfordsburg, Pa.; two sisters, Patty Benfield, of Fla., and Goldie Deneen, of Amaranth, Pa.; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Emory, Harry, and Charles Lanehart and Tim Divelbliss; and one sister, Edna Staub.
