Anna Elizabeth Knable, age 88, of Hancock, died on Monday, November 10, 2014, at the home of her son James Knable, in Hagerstown, Md.

Born in Hancock, on June 10, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Cleveland Tobias and Mary Elsie Reed Shoemaker, and the widow of Glenn Edwin Knable, who died October 20, 1999.

She was a member of the Orchard Ridge First Church of God, in Hancock; and was a homemaker. She had been formerly employed at the Park N Dine Restaurant in Hancock.

She is survived by one daughter, Jeanie  A. Truax and her husband, Dennis, of Starkville, Ms.; three sons, James E. Knable and his wife, Tracy, of Hagerstown, Md., David L. Knable, of Clear Spring, Md., and Dale E. Knable and his wife, Lucia, of Hancock; two sisters, Charlotte Keefer, of Hagerstown, and Faye Corbett, of Hancock; six grandsons; six granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Lou Swain, Mary Hill, and Phyllis Shives; and three brothers, Buddy, Roy, and Stanley Shoemaker.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md. Rev. Dick Bernhard will officiate. Burial will follow at the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, in Hagerstown, Md.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 12, from 5 to 7 p.m.
