Benny Morgan Smith, age 75, of Hancock, Md., passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017, at his home.

Born Saturday, September 26, 1942, in Warfordsburg, Pa., he was the son of the late John William and Cora Mae (Barnhart) Smith; and the husband of Wilma Lee (Weller) Smith, whom he married on July, 28, 1973, at the Stone Bridge Church of the Brethren.

He was a graduate of Hancock High School with the class of 1960.

He owned and operated Smith’s Repair Shop, in Hancock.

In addition to his wife, Wilma, he is survived by a daughter, Lois A. McDonald and her husband, Jerry Allen McDonald, of Needmore, Pa.; two grandchildren, Morgan Lee McDonald and Sierra Marie Mae McDonald; and a brother, Paul John Smith.

In addition to his parents, Benny was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018, at 12:00 noon, at the Little Cove United Methodist Church, 12599 Little Cove Road, Mercersburg, Pa., with Rev. Harry Strite officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Little Cove United Methodist Church, c/o Mr. David Cook.
