Betty Joanne Bartlett, age 83, of Hancock, Md., died on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at the War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs, W. Va.
Born Saturday, September 21, 1935, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mabel (Shoemaker) Hiles; and the widow of David Elliott Bartlett, who died on January 23, 2018.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Valley View Nursing Home, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and was a volunteer at the Martinsburg, W.Va. VA.
She was a member of the Orchard Ridge First Church of God, in Hancock; and the Webster B. Harrison Post 26 Auxilliary, in Hancock.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sharon S. Hendershot, of Hancock, and Debbie L. Swindell and her husband, Tim, of Needmore, Pa.; four grandchildren, Jeremy Reed, Ryan Hendershot and his companion, Britt, Amber Bartlett, and Josh Reed and his wife, Jessie; three great-grandchildren, Ivy Hendershot, Connor Reed, and Madeline Reed; and a niece, Glenda Divelbliss and her husband, Buckey.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Dave Bartlett; a brother, Glen Hiles; and a sister, Delores Morris.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the Orchard Ridge First Church of God, 13642 Orchard Ridge Road, Hancock, on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Jeffrey Hawbaker will officiate.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Grove Funeral Home, in Hancock.
