Betty Hammond
Betty I. Weaver Hammond, age 72, of Essex, died Monday, September 26, 2011, at Franklin Square Medical Center in Baltimore, Md.
Born May 30, 1939, in Hancock, Md., she was the daughter of the late George Raymond and Ethel Irene Sines Weaver.
She was a 1957 graduate of Hancock High School.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Hammond; one son, George Aulabaugh, of Martinsburg, W.Va.; one step-daughter, Sandra Hoag, of Alexandria, Va.; three sisters, Dora Ann Hart, of Baltimore, Md., Iris L. Tobin, of Hagerstown, Md., and Nancy Hottel, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; one brother, Rodney Weaver, of Hancock, Md.; one grandchild; and two step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene Ducky Weaver, Bruce Weaver, and Tommy Weaver.
A service will be held Thursday, September 29, at 11:00 a.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, Md. Rev. Duane Jensen will officiate. Burial will be in the Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Cemetery near Hancock, Md.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
