Carl Fletcher

Carl Alvin Fletcher, age 77, of Buck Valley Road, died Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born February 26, 1933, in Snake Spring Valley, Pa., he was the son of the late Alvin Detenor and Minnie Evelyn Diehl Fletcher.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army.

He was retired as Quality Control Manager for Fleetwood, Hancock, Md., and, more recently, for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

He was manager of the Buck Valley Little League.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ada Arlene Hendershot Fletcher; children, Carla Long, of Buck Valley, Pa., Aubrey Fletcher, of Marion Station, Md., Aletha Bageant, of New Carrolton, Md., Adriel Fletcher and Alanna Fletcher, both of Buck Valley, Pa.; one sister, Gaynell Hall, of McConnellsburg, Pa.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Arvada Sigel and Leona Zies; and brothers, Verl Fletcher and Clyde Fletcher.

A service will be held Saturday, November 6, at 11:00 a.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, Md. Rev. Dick Bernhard will officiate. Burial, with a military graveside service by the Tri-State Honor Guard, will be in the Buck Valley Christian Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m. For the convenience of family and friends, the Funeral Home will be open from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday.
