Carrie Ann (Sowers) Mills, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at her home in Sebring, Fl.

Born Sunday, January 3, 1937, in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of the late David Wood, Jr. and Marguerite (Smith) Sowers.

She was a graduate of Hancock High School, in Hancock, Md., and Marjorie Webster Junior College, in Washington, D.C.

She was a member of The Holy Spirit Catholic Church, in Lake Wales, Fl.

Carrie is survived by two sons, David W. Mills and his wife, Ann, of Worthington, Mn., and Darrin M. Mills and his wife, Andrea, of Sebring, Fl.; three grandsons; three granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; and a sister, Kathryn E. (Sowers) Pickett, of Centennial, Co.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin W. Mills, who died in July, 2016; and a daughter, Sheryl Ann Mills.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 30, 2017, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., where a prayer service will be held at 7:45 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter Catholic Church, 16 East High Street, Hancock, on Friday, December 1, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. Rev. John Lombardi will be the celebrant.  Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
