Cathleen "Cathy" Strock

Needmore, Pennsylvania

Cathleen "Cathy" G. Strock, age 53, of Needmore, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the Morgan County War Memorial Hospital, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

Born August 9, 1956, in Brownsville, Pa., she was the daughter of John and Mary Elizabeth (Walters) Nowakowski.

She was a 1974 graduate of Southern Fulton High School, in Warfordsburg, Pa.

She was a homemaker, and was employed as a housekeeper.

She attended St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, in Hancock, Md.

In addition to her mother and father, she is survived by her husband of twenty-one years, Harry Edgar Strock, III;  one son, Harry Edgar Strock, IV, of Needmore, Pa.; three sisters, Terri Jordan, of Uniontown, Pa., Kimberly Blackburn and Laurie Johnson, both of Warfordsburg, Pa.; five brothers, Edward Nowakowski, of Poco, W.Va., John Nowakowski, Jr., of Mercersburg, Pa., Jerry Walters, Jr. and Joseph Walters, both of Warfordsburg, Pa., Donald Walters, of Shady Gap, Pa.; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dolores and Harry Strock, Jr., of Hancock, Md.; and sister-in-law, Rebecca (Strock) Bohrer, of Shepherdstown, W.Va. Cathy also left behind many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Vanessa Winsor; step-sister, Connie Forgen; grandmother, Edith Casebolt; and step-father, Jerry David Walters, Sr.

The family will receive friends at the Hancock United Methodist Church, 168 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., on Friday, March 26, 2010 from 2-4 and 5-7 p.m., with memorial services at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Duane Jensen and Rev. Willis Swope will officiate.

The family requests, because of Cathy's love for animals, that memorial contributions may be made to the animal welfare society of your choice.
