Charles Martin “Charlie” Clark, age 90, of Needmore, Pa., passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 surrounded by his family.
Charlie was born in McConnellsburg, Pa., on August 27, 1930, the son of the late Otto and Edith (Barthalow) Clark; and the husband of the late Rachel (Miller) Clark.
He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. He was the manager of the former Woodmont Rod and Gun Club, in Hancock, Md., where he raised turkeys and pheasants, before going to work at the Grove Manufacturing Co., in Shady Grove, Pa., from where he retired in 1996.
He was a lifelong member of the VFW Post 655 in McConnellsburg. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon M. Schroedter and her husband, Max; a grandson, Chris Picking and his wife, Sarah; a granddaughter, Rebekah Bailey and her husband, Dan; three great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Picking, Zoey Picking, and Paige Bailey.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Theodore Clark; and a sister, Pearl Saunders.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Bonnie and Larry Shoemaker, and the Damascus Christian Church, for looking out for Charlie.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 11:00 a.m.. in the Antioch Christian Church cemetery, 7902 Timber Ridge Road, Big Cove Tannery, Pa., with military honors to be conducted.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to VFW Post 655, 524 East Poplar Street, McConnellsburg, PA 17233.
