Hancock, Maryland
Charles William Flowers, age 70, of Hancock, and a resident of Berkeley Springs Rehab and Nursing Center, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the facility.
Born April 20, 1941, in Hancock, he was the son of the late Elmer William and Edith Divel Flowers, and the widower of Dorothy Unger Flowers, who died February 14, 1991.
He was formerly employed by F.O. Day Construction, in Gaithersburg, Md.
He was a member of Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, in Hancock; a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and a member of the A.A.R.P.
He is survived by one son, David Shoup, of Hancock; one sister, Dorothy Johnson, of Hancock; and one brother, Robert Flowers, of Hancock.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Catherine Fritz, Mable Waugh, Geraldine McCormick, Edna Divelbliss, Helen Goodrich and Diane Montgomery; and one brother, James Flowers.
A service will be held Friday, April 13, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, 14523 Exline Road, Hancock. Rev. Philip Unger will officiate. Burial will be in the Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, in Hancock, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and at the Church from 10 to 11 a.m., on Friday.
