Little Orleans, MarylandCharles William "Bill" Jones, age 78, of Little Orleans, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at the Western Maryland Health Systems in Cumberland, Md.Born March 17, 1932, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Charles Rubert and Dessa Hester Smith Jones.He was a graduate of Suitland High School, and also a graduate of KREI Institute in Washington, D.C.He was a member of the Needmore Bible Church, Needmore, Pa., where he served as an usher.He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War.He was a life member of the DAV; a member of the VFW Post 467, Westminster, Md.; the Webster B. Harrison Post 26 American Legion, Hancock, Md.; The Gideons International; the NRA; the Civil War Trust; and the Alumni Association of the Maryland State Police.He was retired, as an Electronic Specialist, from the National Security Agency. Prior to that, he was a Journeyman Machinist.He is survived by his wife, Phyllis McGrogan Jones, of Little Orleans, Md., whom he married June 17, 1961 in Philadelphia, Pa.Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Lynn and husband, Robert Paul Knotts, Jr., of Staunton, Va.; one son, Matthew William Jones and wife, Nancy Jean Jones, of Little Orleans, Md.; one sister, Dolores Kissellbach, of Bowie, Md.; one brother, George Alan Jones, of Chester, Md.; grandchildren, Brett Charles Meunier, Tyler William Jones, Laura Elizabeth Knotts, and Robert Paul Knotts, lll.He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Gray; and one brother, James Jones.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at the Needmore Bible Church, Needmore, Pa. The Rev. Douglas Poffenberger will officiate. Burial will follow at the Rocky Gap Veterans' Cemetery, Flintstone, Md.The family will receive friends, at the Needmore Bible Church, on Monday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and, on Tuesday, from 12 to 1 p.m.There will be a light lunch served at the Church at 11:00 a.m., before the services.Memorial contributions may be made to the Needmore Bible Church Building Fund, 6939 Great Cove Road, Needmore, Pa., 17238, or The Gideons International, P.O.
