Charles Gordon Zahm, age 75, of Warfordsburg, Pa., passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at his home.
Born on Wednesday, October 14, 1942, in Hazleton, Pa., he was the son of the late Harold E. and Doris (Weaver) Zahm, and the widower of Sharon Ann (Churchill) Zahm, whom he married June 9, 1979 and who passed away December 9, 2007.
He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corp.
He retired from ADT Security Alarm Systems in 2008, where he had worked as an electrical technician.
He was a member of the Hancock United Methodist Church, and the Webster B. Harrison Post 26, in Hancock, Md.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his deep sea fishing trips. He also loved spending time with his family and taking family vacations.
He is survived by three sons, Charles Gordon Zahm, ll and his wife, Pamela, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Brian D. Zahm and his wife, Roseli, of Warrenton, Va., and Robert M. Zahm and his wife, Tamela, of Hancock, Md.; two daughters, Judy L. Price and her husband, Michael, of Warfordsburg, and Cynthia G. Zahm, of Warfordsburg; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sherry VanBruggen and her husband, Donald, from Mi., and Ruthie Witmer, of Denver, Pa.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Robert Witmer.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 12:00 noon, at the Hancock United Methodist Church, 170 West Main Street, Hancock, Md. Rev. Michael Bynum will officiate. Burial, with military honors by the Tri-State Honor Guard, will follow in the Damascus Cemetery, in Big Cove Tannery, Pa.
The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at noon.
