Clarence Louis Whiting, age 92, a resident of Mercy Center, in Dallas, Pa., and formerly of Hancock, Md. and Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Monday, July 21, 2014, at Mercy Center.
Born June 25, 1922, in McHenry, Illinois, he was the son of the late Clarence D. and Marion E. Knox Whiting.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, in Hancock, Md.
He was a veteran, who served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
He was an analyst for the Federal Government, and retired in 1974.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Melvin, Edmond, Delbert and Lloyd; and a sister, Ellen Marie Whiting.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 25, at 12:00 noon, at St. Peter Catholic Church, Hancock, Md. Rev. Leonard Smith will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the adjoining Church cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Church from 11:00 to 12:00 a.m. on Friday, just prior to the Mass.
