Cleo Sara (Mellott) Baker, age 95 died on Monday, October 31, 2016, at the Coffman Nursing Home, in Hagerstown, Md.
Born Monday, September 5, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Howard J. and Zoah B. (Garland) Mellott; and the widow of Charles Edgar Baker, whom she married September 16, 1942 and who died May 27, 2001.
She was one of the many “Rosie the Riveters,” having worked at Fairchild Aircraft, in Hagerstown, shooting and bucking rivets.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice M. Silver and her husband, Roger, of Hedgesville, W.Va.; a granddaughter, Amanda Silver; a grandson, Caleb Silver and his wife, Jill; nieces; nephews; and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister, and two brothers.
Funeral services will be at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Ron Key officiating. Interment will be at the Cedar Grove Cemetery, at Dott, Pa.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home one hour prior to the funeral service.
