Dale Ritz

Dale W. Ritz, age 92, of Warfordsburg, Pa., passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg, Pa.

Born July 3, 1927, in Buck Valley, Pa., he was the son of the late William and Mina (Hull) Ritz; and the husband of the late Mary L. (Smith) Ritz.

He attended Buck Valley schools; and was a WW II Army veteran.

He was employed by the Pennsylvania State Highway Department for 10 years, and later retired from employment with the John Hixon Sawmill, where he worked for many years.

Dale enjoyed singing with his brother’s band in upstate New York and being outdoors hunting and fishing.

He is survived by two sons, Richard D. Ritz and his fiancé, Shirley Elbin, and Ronald G. Ritz, both of Warfordsburg; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Jack Ritz; and a daughter, Darlene C. Ritz.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1050 E. Industrial Blvd. #3, Cumberland, MD 21502.

Services will be private, at the convenience of the family.
