Daniel Kaye Souders, 74, of Hancock, Md., passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at his home while under the care of hospice.
Born October 27, 1947, in Hancock, Md., he was the son of the late Carl Souders, Sr., and Hazel Creek Souders.
He was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church, Hancock, Md.
He was a graduate of Hancock High School and retired from Rayloc in Hancock.
Danny enjoyed watching his grandchildren play in various sporting events and attended all their games.
His passion was being in the outdoors, walking and hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra Twigg Souders; his children, Michelle Shank, husband Brian, of Warfordsburg, Pa., Daniel Souders, Jr., of Little Orleans, Md., and Tye Souders of Hilton Head Island, SC.; his grandchildren, Breanne Shank of West Mifflin, Pa., Levi Shank and Kara Barnhart, both of Warfordsburg, Pa., Ethan Souders of Tacoma, Wa., Brady Souders, Kaybree Souders and Azalee Souders, of Little Orleans, Md.; and a brother, Raymond Souders, Little Orleans, MD
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl Jr., and Terry Souders and his daughter-in-law, Mendy Souders.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 20, 2021, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main St, Hancock, Md. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Peter Catholic Church, 16 E. High St, Hancock, Md. 21750. Burial will follow in the adjourning church cemetery. Father Joseph Langan will officiate.
