David Allen Smith

David Allen Smith, Sr. 64 of Hancock, MD passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 27, 2024.

Born Tuesday, January 19, 1960, in Reading, PA, he was the father of Amy J. Ray (Glenn) of Hancock, MD and David A. Smith, Jr. (Ashley) of Berkeley Springs, WV. He was the son of the late Nelson E. KIine, Sr. and Julia G. (Sue) Kline. 

David was a 1978 graduate of North Hagerstown High School. He retired from F. O. Day, Inc. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, deer watching and being with friends. 

He is survived by three brothers, Robin L. Smith and Pete W. Smith both of Hagerstown, MD, and Bobby T. Smith of Greencastle, PA; one sister Julie A. Bywaters of Hagerstown, MD; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by a sister Linda S. Capotosti of Clear Spring, MD and grandson Isaiah F. E. Smith.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 11:00am at Orchard Ridge First Church of God, 14128 Orchard Ridge Road, Hancock, MD. In lieu of flowers any donations may be made to Orchard Ridge First Church of God.
