Delphine Deshong

Delphine V. DeShong, age 87, of Warfordsburg, died on Friday, May 29, 2015, at Woodland Retirement Community, in Orbisonia, Pa.

She was born August 3, 1927, in Warfordsburg. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Laura Mellott Sharpe, and the widow of James W. DeShong, who died April 3, 2015, after 65 years of marriage.

She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was a graduate of Warfordsburg High School.

She was a member of Cedar Grove Christian Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan Everts and husband, Eddie, of Warfordsburg; two grandchildren, Michael J. Hendershot, of Chambersburg, Pa., and Stacy Hendershot Bosko and husband, Jason, of Greencastle, Pa.; and great-grandchildren, Ally, Parker, Sydnee, Kira and Jack, all of Greencastle, Pa.

A service will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cedar Grove Christian Church, 5806 Flickerville Road, Warfordsburg, Pa. Rev. William Swope and Pastor Denver Plessinger will officiate. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.

There will be a viewing, and the family will receive friends, at the Church, on Tuesday, from 10 until 11 a.m.
