Dolores Rebecca (McKinley) Strock, age 92, of Hancock, Md., died on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Doey's House in Hagerstown, Md.

Born January 30, 1926, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Harry Grant and Reta (Cornelius) McKinley, and the widow of Harry E. Strock, Jr., whom she married on April 16, 1950, and who died October 8, 2016.

She was a 1943 graduate of Hancock High School, and received her RN degree from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, in Cumberland, Md. in 1946.

In the early years of her marriage, she was a nurse at the Chambersburg Hospital, in Chambersburg, Pa. In 1957 the Strocks moved to Hancock, where she worked at Rosen's, and also did private duty nursing. She also worked with her husband at Harry's Pa. Ave. Market.

Dolores was a former member of Saint Thomas' Episcopal Church in Hancock, where she served as the organist for 17 years, as both of her sisters did before her. She was currently a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority; and she also assisted at many American Red Cross bloodmobiles which were held at the Methodist Church in Hancock.

She enjoyed writing poems for family and friends. She also wrote comedy skits for intermission entertainment for the annual Miss Hancock pageants that were held at Hancock High School. She and Harry both enjoyed performing the skits.

She is survived by a son, Harry E. Strock, III, of Needmore, Pa. and his fiancé, Lydia Manning; a daughter, Rebecca Ann Strock, of Hancock; a granddaughter, Michelle Malmquist and her husband, Brian, of Harrisburg, NC; a grandson, Harry E. Strock, IV, of Needmore; two sisters-in-law, Patricia McKinley, of Hagerstown, Md., and Joyce Strock, of Fayetteville, Pa.; and a very special and beloved friend, Bonnie Shoemaker.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice Reisman and her husband, Rev. William S. Reisman, and Gwendolyn Hill and her husband, Rev. John N. Hill; a brother, Harry C. McKinley; a beloved daughter-in-law, Cathy Strock; a sister-in-law, Helen Betts; and a brother-in-law, Donald C. Strock.

The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock, on Sunday, April 8, 2018, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., on Monday, April 9, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Brian Shoda officiating.

Per Dolores' request, the omission of flowers is requested. Memorial donations in her name may be made to Hospice of Washington County, Doey's House, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742; or St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 180 S. Washington St., Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.
