Donald Eugene Hose, Sr., age 68, of Hancock, Md., died on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at his home.

Born June 28, 1948, in Clear Spring, Md., he was the son of the late Eleanor Hose, and he was the husband of Judith Ann (Brown) Hose, who he was married to for twenty years.

He was a retired blasting technician for J. E. McKeever, Construction, in Sandy Spring, Md.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Connie Bonebrake, of Greencastle, Pa., Faye Hull, of Funkstown, Md., Angie Cave, of Sharpsburg, Md., Lynne Kline, of Mercersburg, Pa., and Michelle Shedd, of St. Charles, IA.; three sons, Rodney Smith, in Japan, Donald E. Hose, Jr., of Clear Spring, Md., and Billy Edwards, Jr., of Des Moines, IA.; fourteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one son, Robert “Boo” Hose.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 1, 2017, from 6 until 8:00 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, in Hancock.

Funeral services will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Ronald Faith will officiate. Burial will follow at the convenience of the family.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the Hancock Police Dept.; the Washington County Sheriff’s Dept.; and the Hancock Rescue Squad and EMT’s.
