Donald Weller

Donald Richard Weller, 96, Hancock, MD., passed away, Monday, November 21, 2022, at Sterling Care at South Mountain, in Boonsboro, MD.

Born September 2, 1926, he was the son of the late Howard and Olive (Mellott) Weller, and the husband of Veriee Mabel (Moats) Weller, who he married March 24, 1950.

He was Veteran of the US Marine Corp.

He retired from C. William Hetzer.

He loved to woodwork, garden, and be in the outdoors. He enjoyed helping others and could often be found with his weed eater in hand. He had the biggest, kindest heart and was loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by a daughter, Beverly Hummel and husband, Ben; a grandson, Robert Allen Hartwick; a granddaughter Dawn Hummel; and 3 great-grandchildren, Hailey Reed, Elizabeth Emerick and Greg Emerick Jr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Weller; a grandson-in-law, Greg Emerick, Sr.; two sisters, Helen Moats and J. Louise Reed; and a brother, Howard Weller Jr.

The family will receive friends Monday, November 28, 2022, 2-4 and 6-8 pm, at Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main St, Hancock, MD. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2022, 11:00 am, at Orchard Ridge Church of God, 14128 Orchard Ridge RD, Hancock, MD., with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Jeff Hawbaker will officiate. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Military Honors will be presented by Tri-State Honor Guard.
