Doris Lorraine (Nichols) Allen, age 87, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died peacefully on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at her home.

Born Thursday, December 25, 1930, in West Grove, Pa., she is the daughter of the late Clarence Edwin and Florence Mae (Allison) Nichols, and the widow of Eston Maine Allen, whom she married June 17, 1987 and who died February 13, 2001.

She was a homemaker.

Doris is survived by three daughters, Nancy Jean (Caudell) Eller Siple Eldreth, of Newark, Del., Deborah Susan Luskey, of Waldorf, Md., and Phyllis Lorraine Allen, of Colorado; six sons, Lawrence Franklin Caudell, of Austin Pa., Edwin Gray Caudell, of Atglen, Pa., Donald Wayne Allen, of Paw Paw, W.Va., Everett J Allen, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Gregory Andrew Allen, of Hagerstown, Md., and Curt Matthew Allen, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; one step-son, Robert Eston Allen, of San Antonio, Fla.; twenty-six grandchildren; and seventy-four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Louise (Nichols) Preusser; and a brother, Robert “Butch” Edwin Nichols.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at 1:00 p.m.at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md. Pastor Darlene Powers and Chaplain Richard Warren will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Nebo Cemetery, in Great Cacapon, W.Va.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home for two hours prior to the funeral service, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
