Dorothy Jane McCray, age 85, formerly of Warfordsburg, Pa., and a resident of Providence Place of Chambersburg, died Friday, January 18, 2013, at the Retirement Community.

Born February 2, 1927, near Warfordsburg, she was the daughter of the late James D. and Goldie B. Plessinger Richards.

She was a graduate of Warfordsburg High School.

She was a real estate agent, and owned McCray’s Florist, in Martinsburg, W.Va.

She was a life-member of Amaranth Church of the Brethren, in Warfordsburg, Pa.

She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Anderson and husband, Gary, of Annapolis, Md., and Doris Lee Akers and husband, Jim, of Hagerstown, Md.; four granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Hilda Schriver, and Jean Reynolds; and one brother, Sheldon Richards.

A service will be held on Saturday, January 26, at 11:00 a.m., at Amaranth Church of the Brethren, 2709 McKee's Gap Road, Warfordsburg, Pa. Rev. Freeman A. Snair will officiate. Burial will be in the Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Saturday, from 10 to 11 a.m.
