Edward Ralph “Eddie” Bivens, age 62, of Hancock, died on Sunday, October 2, 2016, at his home.
Born December 5, 1953, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of the late Paul and Helen (Leader) Bivens, and his step-father, the late Robert Hovermale. He was the husband of Barb (Roman) Bivens, of Hancock.
He was a former employee of Accent Builders, in Hancock.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1483, in Berkeley Springs.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Richard Bivens and wife, Lisa, of Hancock; three sisters, Vicki Miller and husband, Robert, and Pauline Harris, all of Berkeley Springs, and Marjorie Roman, of Hancock; two grandsons, Cody and Matthew Bivens; three sisters-in-law, Deborah Reed and husband, Brian, Linda Bishop and husband, Donnie, and Hilda Buskirk and companion, Paul Bowers; two brothers-in-law, Larry Roman, and Steven Roman and wife, Audrey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, Abby.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ted and Rodney Bivens; a sister-in-law, Mildred Eddy; and a brother-in-law, Lloyd Roman.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 until 8 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md.
A memorial service will be held at the Union Chapel United Methodist Church, 10123 Valley Road, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Michael Leebon will officiate.
