Elzy Eugene Golden Jr., 52, of Hancock, died Monday, April 23, 2012, at Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg, Pa.
Born Oct. 26, 1959, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of Alice Irene Johnson Golden, of Hancock, and the late Elzy E. Golden Sr.
He was employed as an agent of Valspar Corp. of Minneapolis, Minn., as a paint tech. He was a former employee of Douglas Motors Inc., an officer for the Hancock Police Department, a deputy for the Washington County Sheriff's Office, and a former employee of JLG, Kurdviel and Chemcraft.
He attended Needmore Bible Church.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Diane Richards Golden, whom he married May 21, 1983, at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren; one daughter, Katie Beth Golden, of Hagerstown, Md.; one son, Spencer Levi Golden, at home; and three sisters, Beverly Creek, Bonnie Johnson, and Martha Shives, all of Hancock.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Kara Alyse Golden.
A service will be held Friday, April 27, at 11 a.m., at Needmore Bible Church, 6939 Great Cove Road, Needmore, Pa. The Rev. Doug Poffenberger will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Church on Thursday, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., and Friday, from 10 to 11 a.m.
