Ervin Whittier Price, age 100, of Little Orleans, Md., died on Thursday, December 18, 2014, at Williamsport Retirement Village.

Born January 28, 1914, in Little Orleans, he was the son of the late Franklin and Lillie Norris Price, and the widower of the late Daisy (Kakie) Sipes Price, who died June 20, 2001.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a Platoon Sgt. in the U.S. Army. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor, and fought in the Central Pacific, Guadalcanal, North Solomons, and Luzon battles.

He was formerly employed with Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, in Cumberland, Md.

He was a Life Member of VFW Post 2503 in Omaha, Nebraska; a member of the W.B. Harrison Post # 26 American Legion in Hancock, Md.; and a member of the 1 st Evangelical Methodist Church of Little Orleans.

He is survived by two daughters, Nancy Winfield and husband, Edward, of Little Orleans, Carol Smith, of Artemas, Pa., and adopted daughter, Janet Nottingham, of Charleston, W.Va.; two brothers, Roy Price, of North Rose, N.Y., and Joe Price, of Little Orleans; grandchildren, Michael and Judy Price, of Warfordsburg, Pa., and Stacy and Harold Smith, of Hedgesville, W.Va.; four great-granddaughters, Sammi, Brittani, Shelby and Shawna; and one great-grandson, Austin Smith.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Web, Ben and James Price; and one sister, Fannie Price.

A service will be held on Monday, December 22, at 11:00 a.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md. Rev. John Close will officiate. Burial, with military honors by the Tri-State Honor Guard  and Bugles of America, will be in the Price-Wesleyan Memorial Cemetery, on Price Road in Little Orleans.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 20, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Funeral Home.
