Esta Barton

Esta Marie Barton, age 83, of Great Cove Road, died Wednesday May 19, 2010 at Harrisburg Hospital in Harrisburg, PA.

Born January 23, 1927 in Plum Run, PA., she was the daughter of the late Ephriam and Mary Brannon Everts and the widow of George C. Barton, Sr., who died April 11, 1964 and whom she married February 18, 1947.

She was a graduate Valedictorian of Needmore High School and received training in Nursing in Hagerstown, MD.
She retired as a cook from the Southern Fulton School District after 20 years.
She was a member of the Cedar Grove Christian Church.

She is survived by two daughters; Christena Weller of Needmore, PA. and Shirley Truax of State College, PA., four sons; Nelson Barton  and Timmy Barton, both of Needmore, PA., Calvin Barton, Jr. and Jimmy Barton, both of Warfordsburg, PA.; one sister, Whrelda Pittman of Chambersburg, PA.; thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Alice Wingert and one brother, Thurman Everts.

A service will be held Monday May 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cedar Grove Christian Church, 5806 Flickerville Road, Warfordsburg, PA. Rev. Timothy Close will  officiate. Burial will be in the Akersville Cemetery, Crystal Spring, PA.
The family will receive friends Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the church and on Monday 10-11 a.m.
