Esther Geneva Barnhart, age 86, of Hancock, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at her home.
Born March 20, 1927, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Cora May Bivens Younker, and the widow of Harry “Ike” Barnhart, who died April 24, 2000.
She was a member of the Orchard Ridge First Church of God, and a member of the Webster B. Harrison Post 26 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by one daughter, Janice Fink, of Hancock; two sons, Leroy Barnhart, and Edward Barnhart, both of Hancock; one sister, Ida Hart, of Hagerstown, Md.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Otto Philip Barnhart and Bernard Michael Barnhart; four sisters, Reva Brannon, Dorothy Hull, Rena Hart, and Daisy Cassidy; six brothers, Roy Younker, Alvin Younker, Monroe Younker, Russell Younker, Ezra Younker and David Younker.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 9:30 a.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md. Rev. William Swope will officiate. Burial will follow at the Orchard Ridge First Church of God Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
