Ethel Regina Roberta Shaw age 94 years 1 month and 17 days formerly of Needmore, PA, and of West Main Street, died Thursday October 25, 2007 at Homewood at Williamsport, MD.
Born Monday, September 8, 1913 she was the daughter of the late Albert S. and Sophia Catherine Roman Fisher and the widow of William Edward Shaw who died January 28, 1979.
She was retired from Londontown Manufacture in Hancock, MD as a seamstress and had previously been employed with Jacobs Brothers, formerly in Hancock.
She was a member of St. Thomas' Episcopal Church Hancock, MD and a former member of the church choir.
She is survived by one daughter, Nanette Catherine Malarkey widow of Robert Malarkey, two sons, James E. Shaw and wife Jane, Bernard William "Bud" Shaw and wife Violet both of Needmore, PA, twelve grandchildren, Bill Shaw, Craig Shaw, Michael Shaw, Sharon Stanley, Daniel Shaw, Robert Torskey, Charles Torskey, Steven Torskey, Rory-Ann Torskey, Anna Lisa Funk, Scott Torskey and Cindy Malarkey., seventeen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Suzy Weaver, Carlyon Workman, Mable Fisher, Sara Weaver and Isabelle Stanley, two brothers, Earl Fisher and Wade Fisher.
A service was held Monday October 29 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, Hancock, MD, Rev. F. Allan Weatherholt, Jr. and Rev. Steven L. McCarty officiated. Burial was in the Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Cemetery, near Hancock, MD.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening 7-9 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, MD, which was open 2-9 p.m.
