Frances Lucille Harvey, age 82, of Hancock, Md., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 11, 2021, while at her home under the loving care of her family members and Hospice of Washington County.
Born October 6, 1938, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Lillie Mae (Sciese) Wyant; and wife of Roger S. Harvey, whom she married on January 10, 1959, at the Hancock Assembly of God, by Rev. Alvin Kyle.
She was a member of the Hancock Assembly of God, where she was a Sunday school teacher for 42 years; and was a Missionette leader at the church, which is a Christian scouting program for girls
She was a 1956 graduate of Hancock High School; and attended the Washington County School of Nursing, in Hagerstown, Md. She was an avid seamstress and quilter, and had been employed as a seamstress with London Fog Corp., in Hancock, for 32 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Joseph A. Harvey and his wife, Virginia, of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Roger L. Harvey, of Hancock; two grandsons, Gene Harvey and his wife, Missy, and Matthew Wilson and his wife, Summer; one brother, Charles Wyant, of Little Orleans, Md.; and seven sisters, Nancy Castle and her husband, David, of Little Orleans, Md., Shirley Younker, of Hancock, Birdie Oakman, of Warfordsburg, Pa., Fannie Harvey, of Hancock, Vickie Bechtol and her husband, Jim, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Catherine Covalt, of Needmore, Pa., and Donna Boyer, of Hancock.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Robbie Harvey; one brother, Ray Wyant; and an infant sister, Delores Wyant.
Funeral services will be held at the Hancock Assembly of God Church, 431 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Hancock, at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, September 16, 2021, with Rev. Donald Preston officiating. Burial will follow in the Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Cemetery, in Needmore, Pa. The family will receive friends at the Church prior to the services, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m.
Memorial donations in her name may be made to the Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742; or the Hancock Assembly of God Church, at the above address.
