Geraldine M. "Geri" Walter

Geraldine M “Geri” Walter, 85, of Hancock, MD., died Friday, December 1, 2023, at her home.

Born December 29, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Havlicek Defina.

She retired from Seely Pine Furniture, Berkeley Springs, WV., and worked and volunteered for many years at Loaves and Fishes, in Hancock, MD.

One of her favorite things to do was word puzzles and watching and feeding birds and squirrels in her back yard.

She is survived by three sons, Joey Walter, of Falling Waters, WV., David Walter, of Martinsburg, WV., and Danny Walter, of Needmore PA.; one daughter, Jenny Lillis, of Phoenix, AZ.; one sister, Bonnie Orem, of Warfordsburg, PA.; one brother, Mike Defina, of Semora, NC.; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and her cat, Babe.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Walter; and two brothers, John “Ronnie” Defina, and Frank “Sonny” Defina.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.
