Gladys Harriet “Babs” Fling, age 86, of Hancock, Md., died on Monday, April 24, 2017, at the Golden Living Center, in Hagerstown, Md.
Born December 7, 1930, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Riley and Harriet (Layton) Stotler, and the widow of John Edward Fling, who died September 7, 2011.
She was a loving mother and a homemaker.
She attended St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church, in Hancock.
She is survived by one daughter, Beverly S. Flowers, of Hancock; one son, Edward R. Fling, of Needmore, Pa.; one sister, Lou Ann Dockney, of Hedgesville, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Herman, Robert and Marshal Stotler; and one sister, Verda Louise Wills.
A graveside service will be held at the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, in Hagerstown, Md., on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at 11:00 a.m.
The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, on Wednesday, from 2 until 4:00 and 6 until 8:00 p.m., and will meet for a time of prayer on Thursday at 10:00 a.m., before going to Cedar Lawn. Rev. Kibreab B. Gudeta will officiate.
