Helen Mildred Barnhart, age 92, of Warfordsburg, Pa., passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at her home.

Born September 3, 1925, in Fulton County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruie (Hendershot) Ward; and the widow of Leroy Grant Barnhart, whom she married on December 27, 1945, and who passed away on August 15, 2012.

She was a graduate of Southern Fulton High School; and she worked for over twenty years as a teacher’s aide in the Southern Fulton elementary schools.

She was a member of the Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church; the Presbyterian Women; and a volunteer with the Bible Release program.

Helen is survived by a son, Larry L. Barnhart, of Tampa, Fl.; a daughter, Ginger L. Majeski and her husband, Phil, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two sisters, Delma J. Carnell, of Hancock, Md., and Mary Jean Young, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and a brother, Richard Ward, of Hancock, Md.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma M. Ward and Beatrice Carnell; and four brothers, Glenn, Claude, Dane and Roger Ward.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 12:00 noon, at the Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church. Rev. Edward Blank and Rev. Dave Hersh will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Church on Tuesday, for two hours prior to the funeral services, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
