Irvin Ellis “Alkie” Imes, Sr. died on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at his home.

Born June 24, 1935, in Little Orleans, Md., he was the son of the late Ellis A. and Christina K. McDonald Imes, and the husband of Viola R. Coonrod Imes, who died August 13, 1992.

He was a veteran who served in the U.S.Army.

He was a retired truck driver from Steve L. Rhoton, Inc., in Williamsport, Md.

He is survived by three sons, Albert Imes, of Clear Spring, Irvin E. Imes, Jr., of Indian Springs, Md., and Ivan Imes, of Frederick, Md.; three daughters, Christine McCusker, of Williamsport, Md., Wilma Stover, of Hancock, Md., and Shirley Dice, of Clear Spring; one sister, Ruby C. Manning, of Hancock, Md.; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by three sons, Roger Imes, Danny Imes and Randy Imes; one sister, Anna L. White; and one half-brother, Leonard Peck.

A service will be held on Tuesday, June 10, at 2:00 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md. Rev. Jeff Hawbaker will officiate. Burial, with military graveside honors by the Tri-State Honor Guard, will be at the Martin Cemetery, Little Orleans, Md.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. For the convenience of family and friends, the Funeral Home will be open from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
