James “Jimmy” Franklin Flowers, Jr, of Hancock, MD passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the age of 90.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Flowers (Burnett); sister, Nancy McCoy; and parents, James Flowers, Sr. and Mildred. He is survived by his sons, David Flowers and wife, Megan Sobol-Flowers, and Dennis Flowers and wife, Marlene Rodman; by his sisters, Carolyn Myers and Joanne Appel; by his grandchildren, Brady Flowers (Anita), and Lindsay Clingerman (Mike); and Carter and Jaxson Sobol; and by his great grandchildren, Ava and Everly Clingerman, and Jayden Flowers; and by nieces, Lisa Flowers, Becky Ward, and Kelly Mann, and nephew, Eric Myers.
Jimmy spent his life in Hancock and was proud of his hometown. He was married to Barbara in 1954. He was a graduate of Hancock High School and a longtime member of the Tonoloway Rod and Gun Club. He was also a member of The Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and was employed at Mack Truck in Hagerstown where he retired in 1990. Jimmy loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and auto racing.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 12 p.m. at Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main St., Hancock, MD. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org. and Hospice of Washington County, hospicefwc.org.
