Hancock, Maryland
James Glenn Stahle, age 89, formerly a resident of Hancock, and presently of The Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, Pa., died on Monday, June 16 at Chambersburg Hospital, in Chambersburg, Pa.
Born October 29, 1924 in Fulton County, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles Daniel and Ethel Venetia Colvin Stahle. He was preceded in death by his wife Leanne Miller Stahle and three brothers, John Burhman Stahle, Charles Nelson Stahle and Herbert Gene Stahle.
He is survived by his son James G. Stahle, Jr. (Mary Beth), of San Jacinto, Ca.; four grandchildren, Michael (Sandra) Stahle, Matthew (Michon) Stahle, Schelley (Nestor) Sandoval, and Laura (Brad) Bradford; ten great-grandchildren; and his companion, Eleanor Reed.
He was a veteran, having served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII.
He retired from the State of Maryland as a laboratory technician.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; a member of the Tonoloway Rod & Gun Club, in Hancock; and a member of the Webster B. Harrison Post #26 American Legion, In Hancock.
A service will be held on Monday, June 23, at 11:00 a.m., at the Buck Valley Methodist Church. Rev. Jeff Hawbaker will officiate. Burial, with military honors by the Tri-State Honor Guard, will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the services at the church on Monday, from 10 to 11 a.m.
Arrangements were handled by the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md.
