Janice Deshong

Janice (Miller) DeShong, age 87, of Big Pool, MD., passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Hagerstown Health Care, in Hagerstown, MD.

Born Thursday, March 22, 1934, in Washington County, Md., she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Carrie (Mills) Miller.  Her husband, Robert Chester DeShong, whom she married December 25, 1954, preceded her in death on April 21, 2004.  Her brother Aris Thourl "Bud" Miller passed September 30, 2018.

Janice (Dot) was a retired housewife and is survived by her daughter, Sharon (DeShong) Swain and son-in-law, Steve Swain. Her grandchildren are Mark Anthony Swain (spouse Lori (Baker) Swain), and Michael Robert Swain (spouse Nichole (Lee) Swain). Her great-grandchildren are Melody Swain, Alicyn (Ali) Swain and Bryce Swain.

Funeral services will be held at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., on Monday, January 31, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Frankie Revell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Parkhead Cemetery, in Big Pool, MD.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 31, 2022,  from Noon till 1:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home.
