Jean F.  (Steele) Leake, age 99, of Hancock, and more recently, a resident of Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing, Md., went to be with her Lord, Friday, September 9, 2011, at the facility in Lonaconing.

Born June 13, 1912, in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret Cutter Steele, and widow of Thomas Sidney Leake, who died, at age 50, March 29, 1961, from a fire accident at the Celenese plant in Cresaptown, Md.

She was a member if the Cresaptown Assembly of God, where she taught her wonderful Sunday School children.  She was attending the Hancock Assembly of God, before going to the Nursing Home.

She worked for 14 years at the Cresaptown Grade School.

She is survived by one daughter, Margaret E. and husband, Rev. R. D., Smith, Sr., of Hancock; and one son, the Rev. James Leake and wife, Rebecca, of Monroeville, Pa.; a son-in-law, Rev. Allen Younkin, of Land of Lakes, Fl.; six grandchildren, Rev. Robert D. Smith, Jr. and wife, Amanda, of Middleburg, Fl., Edward Yost, of Cumberland, Md., Brenda Haltizer and husband, Scott, of Land of Lakes, Fl., Rev. Jeffrey Leake and wife, Melody, of Alison Park, Pa., Dr. Michael Leake and wife, Jennifer, of Murrysville, Pa., and Debbie Martinez and husband, Fausto, of Long Island City, N.Y.; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Ruth Ethel Yost and Louise Eilen Younkin.

Services will be held Thursday, September 15, at 10:30 a.m., at the Hancock Assembly of God, 431 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Hancock, Md. Rev. James Leake will officiate. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland, Md.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to ACTS 20:24, Bethel Orphanage Mexico,
114 Burke Dr., Monroeville, Pa.  15146.
