Jean Ankeney Sensel passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014, at Homewood Retirement Center, in Williamsport, Md. She was born March 15, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Reginald and Helen Baechtel Ankeney, of Clear Spring, Md.
Jean was the widow of Otis Sensel, who passed away March 25, 1991. They resided in Hancock, Md., and also lived in Venice, Fla. for several winters.
She retired from the former Peoples National Bank in Hancock, Md., (which later became Bank of America). Prior to that she worked many years at Fairchild-Hiller Corp.
She was a member of the Hancock United Methodist Church, where she had been active in the Women’s group. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for many years.
She is survived by a daughter Cheryl "Sherry" Rosenstrauch and her husband, Gary, of Harrisburg, Pa.; four grandchildren, Dennice Schenk and husband, Mike, of West Simsbury, Ct., Erik Rosenstrauch, of Delray Beach, Fl., Joel Rosenstrauch, of Grand Junction, Co., and Alan Rosenstrauch, of Harrisburg, Pa.; and three great-grandchildren, Ellen, Daniel, and Chase. Also, surviving is her step-daughter, Edna Jean Moss, and family, of Reisterstown, Md.
A memorial service will be held at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., on Friday, December 26, at 2:00 p.m.
