Johannes Meijer

Johannes Jacobus Meijer, age 87, of Hancock, Md., passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021, at Sterling Care South Mountain, in Boonsboro, Md.

He was born August 6, 1934, in Utrecht, Netherlands, the son of the late Jacobus J. Meijer and Anna E. (Heck) Meijer. He was the husband of Sandra Mary Meijer, whom he married in January, 1983.

He served in the Dutch Navy for thirty-two years and retired with the rank of Sr. Chief.

In addition to his wife, Sandra, he is survived by two daughters, Jeanette D. Brakkee, of Holland, and Alicia E. Williams, of New Jersey; and four grandchildren.

His burial will be at a later date, at the convenience of his family, in the Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, in Flintstone, Md.
