John Clevenger, Sr.

Warfordsburg, Pennsylvania

John William Clevenger, Sr., age 72, of Warfordsburg, Pa., passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021, at the Fulton County Medical Center, in McConnellsburg, Pa.

Born Saturday, August 13, 1949, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of the late Dale S. and Myrtle F. (Mellott) Clevenger; and the husband of Mary L. (Whisner) Clevenger.

He retired from employment at Fleetwood Industries, in Hancock; and also the Maryland Army National Guard.

John participated in World War II reenactments; and was an avid hunter.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, John W. Clevenger, Jr.; one daughter, Tammy L. Clevenger, both of Warfordsburg; two grandchildren, Mikayla Clevenger, of  Chambersburg, Pa., and Tommy Brown, Jr., of Ridgeley, W.Va.; a brother, James Clevenger, of Texas; and a sister, Darlene Clevenger.

The family will receive friends at the Jerusalem Christian Church, 291 Church Road, in Warfordsburg, Pa., on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Lauren Bard officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining Church cemetery, with military honors conducted by the Tri-State Honor Guard.
