John Barnabus Smith, age 77, of Hancock, died on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at his home.
Born April 22, 1937, in Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late Cyrus W. Smith, Sr. and Milda Keefer Smith, and the widower of the late June H. Creek Smith, whom he married on September 11, 1959, in Big Pool, Md., and who died March 11, 2003.
He had been employed with Newell Enterprises.
He was a member of the Hancock Church of God.
He is survived by two sons, Eddie W. Smith and Brad J. Smith, both of Hancock; one daughter, Debora A. Dawson, of Great Cacapon, W.Va.; two sisters, Patricia Mills and Janet Miller, both of Big Pool, Md.; two brothers, Edward Smith and Earl Smith, both of Hancock; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sons, John A. Smith and Greg E. Smith; and two brothers, Cyrus W. Smith, Jr. and David C. Smith.
A service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014, at 1:00 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock. Rev. Terry Goodwin will officiate. Burial will follow in the Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Cemetery, near Hancock.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m.
