Joseph F. "Joe" Weller, Jr., age 86, of Maryland Avenue, died Thursday April 1, 2010 at NMS in Hagerstown, MD.

Born August 28, 1923 in Maryland, he was the son of the late Joseph F. Weller, Sr. and Vergie G. Helser Weller and the husband of Lucille A. Douglas Weller, whom he married July 14, 1946 and who died May 7, 2006.

He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy.
He retired in 2005 from D.L. Bowman as a truck driver.
He was one of the founders of USS Raby Sailors Association.
He was a member and Deacon of St. John's United Church of Christ, Clear Spring, MD.

He is survived by two sons; J. Keith Weller of Hancock, MD., Douglas D. Weller of Big Pool, MD., one sister; Dorothy Truax of Big Pool, MD.; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters.

A service will be held Tuesday April 6 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, MD. Rev. Charles M. Mackley will officiate. Burial will be in the Damascus Cemetery, Big Cove Tannery, PA.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
