Julia Strait

Warfordsburg, Pennsylvania

Julia Virginia Strait, age 93, formerly of Warfordsburg, and more recently of the Fulton County Medical Center Extended Care, in McConnellsburg, Pa., died Friday, September 27, 2013 at the Extended Care.

Born April 2, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Helen Steach Cutchall, and the widow of Coy W. Strait, who died April 21, 2007.

She was a homemaker; a member of the Buck Valley Christian Church; and a 1939 graduate of McConnellsburg High School.

She is survived by her children; Grover E. Strait, of McConnellsburg, Seibert C. Strait, of Warfordsburg, Chalmer C. Strait, of Warfordsburg, Barbara E. Grumbine, of Hagerstown, Md., and David R. Strait, of Boiling Springs, Pa.; twelve grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at the Buck Valley Christian Church, located at 2281 Harmonia Road, Warfordsburg, The Rev. Dick Bernhard will officiate. Burial will follow in the adjoining Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, and at the Church on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m.

The family requests memorial contributions in her name be made to the Fulton County Medical Center Extended Care, 214 Peach Orchard Road, McConnellsburg, Pa. 17233.
